Event Details

The 2018-19 concert season makes the 10th anniversary of our Artistic Director/Conductor, Ryan Heller.  We blend some of our favorites with fresh new music to celebrate!


Celebrating the Masters
October 13, 2018 7PM @ Riverbend Centre for the Performing Arts
Our gala opening concert showcases our Symphonic Chorus with soloists and orchestra in works by the masters Handel, Haydn, Mozart, and Brahms.  ONE SHOW ONLY!


How Can I Keep From Singing?

Our Chamber Ensemble performs in two of Austin’s most-beloved acoustic spaces. As we continue the celebration of Artistic Director Ryan Heller’s 10th season, we will present works special to both him and the choir, including works of Palestrina, Lotti, and Tormis, plus pieces by two rising stars, Jake Runestad and Carlos Cordero.  Folk songs from various world traditions will be included, as well as an opportunity for you, our audience, to raise your voices with us!


29th Annual "Sing-It-Yourself" Messiah
December 8, 2018 3PM @ St. Matthews Episcopal Church
Our audience joins with our Symphonic Chorus, soloists, and orchestra to sing Handel's great oratorio.  Includes a raffle to win a chance to conduct a reprise of the Hallelujah chorus.


On A Winter's Eve
December 15, 2018 3PM @ St. Matthew's Episcopal Church
The ensembles of Chorus Austin will be joined by the Austin Children's Choir for this family-friendly concert of carols and sing-alongs.  We feature a newly-commissioned work from Diane White-Clayton to honor the memory of Reuben McDaniel, celebrated professor at the UT McCombs School of Business and former Board Chair of Chorus Austin.


Winter Revelry

Our Chamber Ensemble joins forces with chamber music group Revel to present works with piano and saxophone, featuring Morten Lauridsen's Mid-Winter Songs and Anders Paulsson's stunning arrangement of Deep River for chorus and saxophone.


Southwest Voices Festival

 In this acclaimed series, our Chamber Ensemble highlights new music of choral composers from Texas and the Southwest. We'll feature the winning choral work from our 6th Annual Young Composers Competition.


Summer Nights
June 29, 2019 8PM @ Westlake High School Performing Arts Center
Chorus Austin's first-ever pops concert will spotlight all of our singers in solos, small groups, and choruses from operetta and musical theater standards like Carousel and Sound of Music, as well as contemporary classics such as Rent and Wicked.
