On A Winter’s Eve

Join us for our annual winter/holiday concert!  This year, our Symphonic Choir will perform Bach’s Cantata 191 (“Gloria in Excelsis Deo”, which was the inspiration for the “Gloria” of his beloved B-Minor Mass); our Chamber Ensemble will perform a variety of carols, old and new, and, as always, there will be an opportunity for you to raise your voices with us!  
 
 

Songs of the Earth

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we will feature Randall Thompson’s Frostiana, performed by our Symphonic Choir, and other selections performed by our Chamber Ensemble. Celebrate with us as we explore this place we all call home.

Our acclaimed new-music concerts feature the music of living composers, many of whom are our friends and neighbors! This year, we will feature music written by women, and music written for women.  As always, the winner of our annual Composer’s Competition, now in its’ 7th year, will be introduced.

A rich tradition of great choral music and modern musical innovations mark Chorus Austin, a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to bringing great choral works to Austin and the Central Texas area. Under the Chorus Austin umbrella are its two ensembles: the Symphonic Chorus and the Chamber Ensemble. Each group offers a distinctive concert experience for both audience and singers under the baton of Artistic Director and Conductor Ryan Heller.
